A Tribute to The Hunger Games Trilogy - The Books

Our 100 days of Mockingjay celebration burns on! This week we're honoring the place where it all began: Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games book trilogy.
Suzanne Collins created The Hunger Games from an idea born of late night channel surfing between real war coverage and reality television. Suzanne, the daughter of a career military man and Vietnam Veteran, has said that she wanted to write an age-appropriate war story for every age group. The Hunger Games is her war story for young adults. The trilogy's themes of poverty, socio-economic disparity, government corruption, propaganda, revolution, redemption, and the consequences of war mirror events in our current society.
The Hunger Games means different things to different people. For some, Katniss Everdeen is a strong and inspiring female role model, and for some she inspires as a survivor of poverty and PTSD. She's complicated, imperfect, damaged and an incredibly compelling lead character.
Some people adore the love stories. Suzanne wrote interesting, complex relationships without a typical fairytale ending in the lot: Katniss and Peeta, Katniss and Gale, Finnick and Annie, even Mr. and Mrs. Everdeen.
As we've seen throughout this 100 Days of MJ project, The Hunger Games means much more to people than a series of novels or a movie franchise. Seven of the ten most highlighted Kindle passages ever are from The Hunger Games trilogy, and The Hunger Games is the third most highlighted book OF ALL TIME, eclipsed only by The Bible and Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.
How You Can Participate This Week:

Suzanne's words are compelling and powerful, meaningful and resonant. We want to honor those words this week by asking you to share your favorite Hunger Games book quote or passage in a visual way. Take a quote that has made an impact on you and make an edit, write it out, take a photo – the possibilities are endless. Let your imagination run wild. Just feature the words of THG in a visual way and use the hashtag #THGTrilogy to share it on social media.
We are partnering with our friends at Everlarked & Always (who made the beautiful edit above) this week. They'll also be sharing some of your tagged work on their Tumblr blog Everlarked & Always, so be sure to follow.

My favorite book from the series has to be Mockingjay. It's very intense in a lot of scenes and holds many revelations. I also get to see how Katniss overcame all of her challenges and move on with her life after the Games and the succeeding havoc.
The Mockingjay lives.
Catching Fire because there are a lot of Everlark moments and the revolution is starting so this book is my fave.
oooomffg this giveaway is so cool, i hope de odds will be on my favor
Catching Fire was my favorite book!
I am bad at choosing favorite books, plus the favorite one from the book series I love. So I am choosing all of them :P
Catching Fire is my favorite because you get to see a lot more of Katniss & Peeta's relationship!
The hunger games!
My favorite book from the triolgy is probably Catching Fire.
I was debating my self ever since I read the trilogy which one between Catching Fire and Mockingjay is my favourite. And Mockingjay is very close to beeing my fave but because of the torture that is not knowing what's going on with Peeta in the first 12 chapters of it, and with the rushed growing back together...I decided against it.
Mockingjay is my favorite! I love the character development and how unexpected all the twists and turns were. A very satisfying ending to a wonderful story!
It's hard too choose from all three, but Catching Fire is probably my favorite!
My favorite is Cathcing Fire ♥ I love this book so much!
Catching Fire by far is the best in my opinion. It might seem odd, but I feel like its the perfect combination of Hunger Games and Mockingjay. Plus, it's the last time we get real Peeta!
My favourite book of the trilogy is definitely Catching Fire! It was the book that made me cry the most, it was so permeated with all those feelings of sacrifice and friendship. And let's not forget the starting of the revolution, it was really intense. (Even if, to be fair, Mockingjay was also the one that made me empathize with Katniss the most, so there's that too)
my favorite book is absolutely The Hunger Games <3333
I have never read the books before but I would love to since everyone has been saying its really cool! I would love to have this :)
I cannot choose one favorite book. Even though each book is a great read, they depend on each other to form the entire story. With that said, my favorite is the series!
I'm not sure witch book is my favorite... I love all of them for different reasons beacause they are very different... I'd say Mockingjay because it's the book that made me cry the most lol ♥
I think all the books are amazing that why I love The Hunger Games Trilogy so much! My favorite would have to Mockingjay because it was exciting to see how Katniss and Squad 451 defeated the Capitol and ended the games for Panem. Also, the deaths in this book is very sad but they all died to make Panem better which is the ultimate sacrifice.
My favorite book is Cathcing Fire. But I love them all, because all are surprising, exciting, and all we could imagine :)
My favourite book is Mockingjay, because it gave a meaning to a series and despite being a sad book it was realistic with it's core and had a bittersweet ending
My favourite THG book is definetly Cathcing Fire. It is the perfect combination between Hunger Games and Mockingjay. And we have Finnick. And we see the real Peeta for the last time.
I choose Mockingjay! there is many action and I love it!
I know this book is the least favorite for a lot of people but my favorite book in the trilogy is most definitely Mockingjay. I just love how everything wrapped up and I felt completely satisfied with how things turned out which isn't something that happens often for me! This giveaway is awesome because I just realized my Mockingjay pin fell off my bag last week and I was so bummed about it!
I really love this trilogy, I read it a long time ago, and if I have to chose only one I probably will chose Cathing Fire, there is so much action, love and I realy like it because I think that in that part of the story katniss realized that she was in love of Peeta <3 and their love becomes more REAL (Peeta <3)
I love Catching Fire because it starts to show that there is more then the games. The revolution starts. Sacrifices are made. I can't choose between Catching Fire and Mockingjay because in Mockingjay you see the revolution and how much everything has changed and how Prim takes care of Katniss more. Also how Katniss realizes she can't live without Peeta and it tells the people that love survives all.
