Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, and director Francis Lawrence were on hand to present The Hunger Games: Catching Fire teaser trailer at Lionsgate's Cinema Con panel today. While no new footage was presented, we do know that the movie has officially wrapped, and the trailer will premiere in theatres in two weeks, ahead of Iron Man 3.
Director Francis Lawrence revealed that he was still "furiously" cutting the film. Hemsworth kicked in a vote of confidence. "I know that he's not going to disappoint anyone," he said.
"I think we've actually been able to really ratchet up the emotion and the scope this time," said Francis Lawrence.
Keeping in the vein of Effie, her pragmatic, image-conscious character, Elizabeth Banks gave a nod to the studio's early marketing efforts.
"They're getting really excited," she said of Lionsgate. "They're kicking it into overdrive on this one."

In 2012, the first annual Josh Hutcherson Celebrity Basketball Game benefiting Straight But Not Narrow kicked off the weekend's festivities for the Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament. Josh Hutcherson, and his celebrity friends hit the court for a competitive and highly entertaining basketball game. All net proceeds from the game went to raise funds and increase awareness for Josh's charity, Straight But Not Narrow.
The Josh Hutcherson Celebrity Basketball Game will be back again this year, Friday, August 9th, 2013. The fun starts at 7:00pm in Nokia Plaza in Los Angeles, CA. Get tickets HERE.

We told you HERE about Lionsgate's Cinema Con presentation today, and it's been reported that we'll get to see a little more Catching Fire footage at this presentation. It's rumored (but not confirmed) that Sam Claflin is making an appearance at the annual theater owner's convention.
Elizabeth Banks just confirmed that she's there to talk Catching Fire, in addition to receiving the Excellence in Acting Award at tonight's Big Screen Achievement Awards Gala.

We'll update this post with more news about Catching Fire at Cinema Con.

Sadly, no new footage was revealed at Lionsgate's presentation this afternoon. Though the studio did get a snazzy new logo:

Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, and director Francis Lawrence were on hand to introduce the teaser trailer and Lawrence says the film is officially wrapped and he's busy cutting it. The trailer will premiere in theatres in 2 weeks ahead of Iron Man 3! At least we'll all be able to enjoy it on the big screen.

When the last Hunger Games Explorer image started to un-blur itself last Saturday, we thought the dress Effie was wearing looked an awful lot like Alexander McQueen:
Turns out our normally useless, totally random fashion knowledge is good for something! Alexander McQueen confirmed that the dress is indeed McQueen Autumn/Winter 2012. Effie Upgrade!

Thu, April 18, 2013 Every year, TIME Magazine presents its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, from artists and leaders to pioneers, titans and icons. Jennifer Lawrence was chosen for one of seven special cover editions. Academy Award winning actress Jodie Foster wrote about Jennifer Lawrence for the 2013 Time 100 Issue.
From TIME:
You’ll remember where you were when you first felt it, how you were stuck to one spot like a small animal considering its end. The Jennifer Lawrence Stare. It cuts a searing swath in your gut. A reckoning. I remember going to the cutting rooms of Winter’s Bone. I thought, Sure, this girl can act. But, man, this girl can also just be. All of those painful secrets in her face, the feeling that there’s some terrible past that’s left impossibly angled bone and weariness in its wake. She’s worn from the pain of living — something none of her characters would ever have the energy to articulate. It’s just part of her, like skin and muscle. The good news is that Jen, her good-humored, ballsy, free-spirited alter ego with the husky voice and a propensity for junk food … Jen, the spritely tomboy from Kentucky — that Jen’s got it together. A hoot. A gem. A gem with a killer stare.

Wed, April 17, 2013 LOGOTV held their NewNowNext Awards on Monday, April 15th, and Jennifer Lawrence earned the Beyond Style honor for her appearance in Dior at the 85th Annual Academy Awards. Unfortunately, Jennifer didn't attend the NNNAs.

From NewNowNext:
Did an angel fall out of Heaven and straight into the Oscars? No, but close enough, it's actually Jennifer Lawrence in a stunning Dior gown. How much dreamier can she be?

Tue, April 16, 2013 Looks like Josh Hutcherson's charitable side is rubbing off on Sam Claflin. Sam just filmed a little UK style video for Josh's pet charity, Straight But Not Narrow. Until the video is released, SBNN posted this behind the scenes photo to tide you over.
