Capitol TV Is Back: President Snow Delivers a New Propaganda Broadcast for Sunrise on the Reaping

CAPITOL TV IS BACK ON THE AIR.

The official Hunger Games account has launched Capitol.tv, a new interactive, in-universe website calling itself “Panem’s source of truth” — and if this first day is any indication, the propaganda machine is officially up and running ahead of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

One of the biggest reveals so far is “A Special Announcement from President Snow,” a new 90-second Capitol TV broadcast featuring Ralph Fiennes’ President Coriolanus Snow addressing the citizens of Panem.

In the video, Snow speaks about the Dark Days and the history of Panem before delivering a message centered on the Reaping, setting the tone for what looks like a full-scale in-universe marketing rollout for Sunrise on the Reaping.

The site features Capitol TV "broadcasts" and propaganda materials tied to The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, including our first clean, high-resolution look at the “Panem’s No. 1 Peacekeeper” poster featuring President Snow, as well as the “No Peace, No Prosperity” propaganda we first spotted during filming at Landschaftspark in Duisburg.

With three months still to go until release, this feels a lot like the start of a much bigger campaign.

And because apparently one major drop wasn’t enough for one morning, the official Hunger Games account also marked three months until Sunrise with a new video that included two tiny new glimpses of Maysilee Donner and Haymitch Abernathy.
