Capitol TV Drops New Propaganda Videos Featuring Glenn Close as Drusilla

Capitol TV is back with another round of propaganda videos.

Three new broadcasts - TRUST, BELIEVE, and ELEGANCE - were released on Capitol TV on September 7 as part of the ongoing The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping marketing campaign. The most notable of the three is ELEGANCE, which features Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle and gives us another deeply unsettling look at District 12’s Capitol escort.

 

In the spot, Drusilla delivers a message about beauty, authority, and “imperfection” while showing off the exaggerated look described in Suzanne Collins’ novel.

The other two broadcasts continue Capitol TV’s glossy, unnerving in-universe advertising campaign with new Capitol personalities. We also now know the other two promo characters are meant to represent District escorts, played by Memphis Cade and Alex Costello. These appearances were created specifically for the Capitol TV promotional campaign - the actors are not in the film itself.
