'Mockingjay Part 1' is Now the Top Grossing Film of 2014

Thu, January 22, 2015 We did it, tributes! According to Scott Mendelson at Forbes, as of last night, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is the top grossing film of 2014 in the United States, surpassing the $333.2 million earned by Guardians of the Galaxy!
A couple of interesting stats to bear in mind: This makes 2014 the second year in a row where a Hunger Games film topped the domestic box office. It's also the second year in a row where a female-led film topped the domestic box office and makes Hunger Games the first franchise to top the domestic box office charts two years in a row.
And it was all done without the help of 3D and/or IMAX increased ticket prices!
Congrats to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Lionsgate and the whole team involved! And thanks to YOU for getting out there to the theater!
