The Hunger Games Location Vacation - The Swan House Capitol Tour

One of our PanemPropaganda admins recently had the pleasure of taking a Hunger Games vacation, visiting some of the filming locations for Catching Fire and the Mockingjay films in Atlanta. Elise (@lawrencexswift on twitter) wrote this fantastic report! So many behind-the-scenes details are included in the tour.

This past week, I traveled to Atlanta, Georgia in anticipation of seeing a few sets from Catching Fire and both Mockingjay movies. First, I went to the historic Swan House, which you know better as President Snow’s mansion. I’m fascinated by the history of this home, and it was such a surreal experience for me as I’ve never seen a Hunger Games filming location before. Anyway, I poked around the house for a while and then began the Swan House Capitol Tour. This was a guided tour of the specific rooms used for Catching Fire and a little bit of Mockingjay Part 1. My tour guide (Mirgill, who is fabulous and very informative-he was an extra on set!) said they were holding back Part 2 sets until the movie is released, but my group did see a video of one of the rooms decorated for Part 2. (I’m pretty sure that it was Snow’s office :))

'Mockingjay Part 2' Trailer in 3 Days!

Nina Jacobson tweeted a new still from Mockingjay Part 2 this morning.

And The Hunger Games official accounts posted this picture shortly afterwards:

Then later in the day, Elizabeth Banks posted this one to her socials (instagram, twitter, tumblr, facebook).

Just when we all thought the new Mockingjay Part 2 trailer was coming out on Friday, it looks like it's going to be Thursday?!

In response to our inquiries on exactly WHEN this trailer is actually appearing, Lionsgate sent us a link to the photo above. So, as far as we can tell, the trailer will debut on Thursday, not Friday as we all originally expected. Don't worry though, I'm sure we'll get more clues as the week progresses!

Meanwhile, enjoy the new stills from MJ2.

New 'Mockingjay Part 2' Dolls on the Way?

It looks like we may get a new set of Mockingjay Part 2 dolls, tributes.  Tim Palen, Lionsgate's chief brand officer, president of worldwide marketing, and the fine-art photographer behind The Hunger Games' viral marketing campaigns, just posted this somewhat creeptastic photo to his instagram with the caption "Dolls #mockingjay #hungergames #peeta #gale." Looks like these are samples for the likenesses of our two male leads.

What do you think? Are you into The Hunger Games Barbies?

First Stills and Trailer from Jennifer Lawrence's 'Joy'

The first teaser trailer and stills have been released from Jennifer Lawrence's upcoming film, Joy. The movie reunited Jennifer and director David O. Russel (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) for what Russel calls, "an epic, unexpected story about the interior life of one woman’s soul, from the ages of 10 to 40.”

The director spoke with Entertainment Weekly and gave a little more insight into what the movie is all about:

The title also refers to the owner of said soul, Joy (Jennifer Lawrence), a businesswoman who becomes the head of her family at the age of 27. To create the character, Russell was inspired by real-life mogul Joy Mangano — inventor and founder of Ingenious Designs — as well as the personal female influences of his youth, including his mother and her circle of friends.

“It’s my first film that really has the woman as the star,” he says. “What’s it like to become a boss and the godmother of a family and dynasty, both emotionally and commercially? You go inside that person’s soul, and it’s alternately hilarious, horrifying, and sort of joyous. Relationships are always complex, and nobody gets to success without breaking some of their own bones—and other people’s, too.”

On reuniting with stars Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert De Niro, who are Russell three-peaters after 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook and 2013’s American Hustle “I have a shorthand with these actors,” Russell says of the trio. “We share an enormous amount of trust and affection, and it allows us to take risks.”

Joy opens December 25th.

Liam Hemsworth fans rejoice! The trailer for his upcoming film The Dressmaker dropped and features a very handsome Mr. Hemsworth in all manner of rugged, tanned, beautifully-lit, half-nakedness. And the movie looks pretty adorable. Enjoy!

Here's the movie's synopsis:

Based on the best-selling novel by Rosalie Ham, THE DRESSMAKER is a bittersweet, comedy-drama set in early 1950s Australia.
