Jennifer Lawrence Honored At SBIFF

Jennifer Lawrence was presented with Outstanding Performer of the Year last night at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. 

Jennifer said of her amazing year, “It’s exhausting and an honor. It’s an exhausting honor.” Here's a peek at her giving interviews on the red carpet at the Arlington Theater in downtown Santa Barbara last night. 

Jen sat down in front of a 200+ audience with festival director Roger Durling for a Q & A. She reflected on her short but tremendously successful career. In her usual candid and hilarious fashion, she talked about her start in the business.

“I had never really thought of acting growing up. It was never really a possibility. Now looking back at it, I know that I was an actress since birth. Dressing up in different outfits. And I’d introduce myself as Lucille Ball. So now it’s starting to make sense.”

After a scout spotted her in New York on Spring Break, she and her mother met with agencies.

“In the car from the hotel to the modeling agency I decided that I didn’t want to be a model that I was only going to be an actress. And that I’d only sign with an agency that would let me act. And so I was turning down all these agencies and my mother thought I was an idiot.”

Josh Hutcherson at Super Bowl Events in New Orleans

Josh Hutcherson is making the rounds in New Orleans this weekend. He was spotted last night at the Rolling Stone LIVE Concert at the Bud Light Hotel.

This afternoon Josh took part in the DirectTV Celebrity Beach Bowl. His team, Team White, didn't win. But it looks like thay all had a blast out there!

Jennifer Lawrence Talks Catching Fire With UK's Daily Mail

Jennifer Lawrence spoke with the UK's Daily Mail about heading to the EE British Academy Film Awards (aka the BAFTAS) on February 10th and her recent SAG Awards win but she also slipped in a few tidbits about The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Including that she has NINE days left of filming on location in Hawaii.

The actress has been recovering from a nasty flu bug, which was not helped by recent filming on the second Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire. She was shooting outside, in freezing weather, in only a T-shirt.

‘That probably wasn’t the best for my sickness,’ she said, wryly.

Luckily, the remaining nine days of filming, in her role as Katniss Everdeen, will take place on location in Hawaii.

Then she has a few weeks off, before she has to travel to Canada to film  X-Men — Days Of Future Past, a time-travelling sci-fi epic featuring a galaxy of superheroes.

Jennifer also discussed her wrongly reported wardrobe malfunction and luckily retained her trademark humor:

You may have seen that the layered Dior gown Jennifer wore to the Screen Actors Guild awards came adrift as she made her way up to accept the best actress statuette for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, prompting global discussion.

‘It’s the way the dress was structured,’ sighed the 22-year-old star. 

‘It’s a tiered dress, which I didn’t understand until I sat down and saw my thighs through sheer material and thought: “What’s going on?!”

‘So, yeah, that was a surprise — but not a malfunction.’

Then, with tongue firmly in cheek, she added: ‘It was supposed to do that, though. I planned it.

'I was concerned people would start talking about the award that I won, and my acting, so I thought I’d pull a stunt just to get things back to where they need to be.’

Sam Claflin at the InStyle UK Best of British Talent Party

Sam Claflin attended InStyle UK's Best of British Talent Party at Shoreditch House last evening. The fourth annual pre-BAFTA event celebrating the EE British Academy Film Awards included some of Britain's most established talent and hottest up-and-comers including Damian Lewis, Matt Smith and Bonnie Wright. 

Sam told InStyle it was a welcome break after filming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. "I was on a diet of chicken and asparagus twice a day." He said of his strict fitness regime. Though he recalled of his time on set, "It was like being in a fantasy land and now I'm back to reality."

Jennifer Lawrence Wins Screen Actors Guild Award

Jennifer Lawrence won the Actor statuette for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role tonight at the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) Awards!

Jennifer's brilliant performance as Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook has been taking home nearly every possible prize this awards season including the Golden Globe and Critic's Choice Awards. Well deserved! Congratulations Jennifer!
