Nominate 'Mockingjay Part 1' in the MTV Movie Brawl 2014

It's time for MTV's annual Movie Brawl and this year it's up to YOU to nominate the competitors! The Movie Brawl will determine the most anticipated film to hit theatres in 2014 - and we know that for US it's obviously Mockingjay Part 1! So, let the nominations begin!

The Details from MTV:

To kick things off, we want you to let us know what movie you're most looking forward to in 2014 through Twitter using hashtag #MTVMovieBrawl and in the comments HERE. We'll tally those votes, and release the thirty-two top vote getters on January 13 at 9 A.M. on our official MTV Movie Brawl bracket. And then it's time to let the brawling begin.

Just to be clear that it is, in fact, up the fans to decide this thing: in 2012, Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis was the surprise winner, narrowly beating The Hunger Games. So in 2013, it was time for revenge when The Hunger Games: Catching Fire took the top spot. This year, with Pattinson reteaming with Director David Cronenberg for Maps To The Stars, will they take back the top spot from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1? Or will a third contender enter the ring?

The idea is pretty simple: 32 movies released between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014 enter; one movie leaves. Until the end of January, you let MTV know by voting on the MTV Movie Brawl page what should stay and what should leave. Every few days, MTV will eliminate half the movies until one victor remains to reign supreme.

Jennifer Lawrence Nominated for BAFTA

Jennifer Lawrence has been nominated for a BAFTA (British Academy Film & Television Award - it's the British Oscars) for her turn as Rosalyn Rosenfeld in American Hustle. The movie is also nominated for several other BAFTAS including Best Film. Best Director, Best Screenplay and almost every other major category.

The BAFTAs will air Sunday 16 February on the BBC. In the US, the show will air on BBC America.

'Mockingjay' Set Photos From Pullman Yard in Atlanta

A blogger from Georgia recently posted some great shots from the Mockingjay set at Pullman Yard in Atlanta, GA. The shots were taken in October when Karen from Georgia Goods decided to head up to her rooftop to see if she could get a better view of the action that was taking place across the street from her home.

We couldn't spot any of the main cast in the pics but there are lots of extras who look like citizens of one of the Districts. What do you think they were filming?

'Catching Fire' Box Office Update: Will Be Top Grossing Film of 2013

Variety predicts that, by week's end, Catching Fire will beat out Iron Man 3 to become 2013's top grossing film domestically. Catching Fire has grossed $407.5 million stateside, and $423,400,000 internationally for a whopping $830,888,000 worldwide through Sunday.

Jennifer Lawrence is on about a million "Best" lists this awards season for her turn as Rosalyn Rosenfeld in American Hustle and also her general awesomeness (not to mention this little movie she stars in, Catching Fire. Maybe you've heard of it?). She's landed on yet another list  - Forbes' 30 Under 30, their annual tally of the brightest stars in 15 different fields under the age of 30. Here's what Forbes had to say about Jen.

In 2013 the Academy crowned her Best Actress and the Internet crowned her "our best friend." Her candor made her a sensation, and her girl-next-door relatability didn't dampen her earning power. She's officially one of the highest-paid women in Hollywood, reportedly earning $10 million for "Catching Fire." Fans who can't wait for the final two installments of "The Hunger Games" can see Lawrence in "American Hustle" and next year's "X-Men" flick.

Jennifer Lawrence Named Best Supporting Actress By National Society of Film Critics

Jennifer Lawrence was named Best Supporting Actress by the National Society of Film Critics for her role as Rosalyn Rosenfeld in American Hustle. The Society, made up of many of the country’s most distinguished movie critics, held its 48th annual awards voting meeting on Saturday, January 4th, using a weighted ballot system, at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Center as guests of the Film Society of Lincoln Center.
