The Mockingjay Part 2 Los Angeles Premiere

The PanemPropaganda staff were lucky enough to attend the Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 on Monday, a blustery, freezing cold LA evening. The cast gamely walked the red carpet, greeting fans, signing autographs, and taking selfies despite the cold. I know it sounds crazy  - cold in Southern California  - but it was brutal out there! 

Due to the tragic events in Paris, all red carpet interviews and the planned MTV livestream were canceled. Instead, the cast spend time with fans along the carpet, then headed into the premiere and after-party.

We were inside the after party too. We'll post photos from that amazing experience asap.

Mockingjay Part 2 Los Angeles Premiere Will Be Scaled Down Due To Paris Attacks

The Los Angeles premiere for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 has been scaled back after the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

Press interviews on the red carpet (which was scheduled to be two hours) have been canceled. Instead, the stars of the film — including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Josh Hutcherson — will likely only greet fans and take a few photos before heading into the screening in downtown Los Angeles. The afterparty is still scheduled to be held at the event deck at L.A. Live.

"Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday’s Mockingjay 2 premiere," said a statement from Lionsgate. "We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion."

The MTV livestream has also been canceled 

This won't affect the fans experience attending the event. In many ways, fans will likely have even more opportunities for cast signings and access since they won’t be doing press interviews. We are here in Los Angeles now and the preparations for the red carpet and fan bleachers continue in LA Live as we speak.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Premiere in Paris

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Paris premiere was held at Le Grand Rex on November 9, 2015. Attendees were: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, director Francis Lawrence and producers Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik.

Francis Lawrence tweeted:

VMAN Magazine's Issue #34 contains a great never-before-seen behind the scenes photo of Woody Harrelson in Mockingjay Part 2!

I was at dinner when I received a photo of a horribly bloodied Woody on my phone. He had wrecked on his bicycle in some gravel and was in horrible shape. We were in the middle of shooting Mockingjay and he had a scene the next day but his face was damaged. I called immediately and he sounded horrible – weak, worried and a bit blurry. I was truly worried for him and desperately urged him to go to the hospital. There was a moment of silence and then I heard that amazing Woody laugh. It was a joke that he and our makeup team had devised. None of it was real but I bought it. I bought it because he brought the same talent to that joke as he does to his performances. He finds a truth and fills it with vulnerability, unpredictability, gravity and mischief: the perfect ingredients for a great actor (and also a really great joke).

It's great to see how much they laughed between takes!
