The Hunger Games DELETED SCENE ALERT! Never-Before Seen Scene Featuring Katniss & Peeta

The Hunger Games DELETED SCENE ALERT! PopSugar has an exclusive look at a deleted scene between Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games that we all knew was out there somewhere, thanks to movie stills we've seen throughout the years.

All of us who know and love the books are aware that Katniss and Peeta's first, and very important, connection was when she was much younger, starving and desolate. Peeta burns the bread and throws it to Katniss, giving her hope and inspiration to go on and take care of her family. She feels as though she owes him and can't shake the connection. But in The Hunger Games film, aside from the brief flashback scene, Katniss and Peeta's first encounter with the bread is not really addressed.

But actually, it was — it's just in a deleted scene that is only now becoming available with the release of The Hunger Games: The Four Film Collection, which comes out on March 8 on Digital HD and March 22 on Blu-ray/DVD. We finally have a look at the clip, where Katniss gets to say something about the bread incident to Peeta! And we also get a glimpse of Haymitch eavesdropping on the pair, starting those booze-soaked wheels turning about how to play the game.

What do you think of the new deleted scene? Check out everything you need to know about the The Hunger Games: The Four Film Collection in our post here (scroll down to the end the post for the lowdown).

Thanks to Real or not real News for the youtube version of the deleted scene!!

Lionsgate Wants to Film 'Hunger Games' Prequels

Jennifer Lawrence and Lionsgate's Michael Burns

Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns spoke at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York this morning and compared The Hunger Games franchise to Harry Potter saying it will "live on and on and on."

Mockingjay Part 2 continues to lead the box office with roughly $525 million earned worldwide. The film opened just over $100 million its opening weekend, behind earlier franchise installments. Burns said he was disappointed, but that it was a "high-class problem" to have.

Not sure what "kids" Burns talked to but he said, "The one thing that kids say they missed (from the early Hunger Games films) was there was no arenas. If we went backwards there obviously would be arenas." We disagree and have a whole lot to say about this argument, but that's for another post!

Burns also said the studio aims to get more from its other big franchises — including TwilightThe Expendables and Saw, looking towards reboots, prequels or sequels for each of them.

Burns told Variety, “Whatever extensions of ‘The Hunger Games’ brand we pursue, the intent is not to glorify violence by arbitrarily telling arena stories, but to continue Suzanne Collins’s exploration of the concepts of just war theory.”

"There Are Worse Games To Play/Deep In The Meadow" Featuring Jennifer Lawrence

The Hunger Games youtube channel has uploaded the epilogue and credits song for Mockingjay Part 2. James Newton Howard's beautiful "There Are Worse Games To Play/Deep In The Meadow," featuring Jennifer Lawrence's vocals, is a total sob-inducer. I saw the film again today for the third time and cried just as hard as the first time. Enjoy, and grab your tissues.
