Jennifer Lawrence WINS + Natalie Dormer & Julianne Moore Attend the 73rd Golden Globes

A trio of our Mockingjay cast attended the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, held in Beverly Hills Sunday night, January 10. Jennifer Lawrence was a presenter AND won Best Actress in a Motion Picture, musical or comedy for her work in Joy.

Fellow The Hunger Games actresses, Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer were also in attendance. Julianne won the Globe last year for Still Alice, so she came back and presented the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama Award to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Natalie was there in support of Game of Thrones, which was nominated for BEST TELEVISION SERIES - DRAMA but didn't win. 

Mockingjay Part 2 Los Angeles Premiere Will Be Scaled Down Due To Paris Attacks

The Los Angeles premiere for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 has been scaled back after the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

Press interviews on the red carpet (which was scheduled to be two hours) have been canceled. Instead, the stars of the film — including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Josh Hutcherson — will likely only greet fans and take a few photos before heading into the screening in downtown Los Angeles. The afterparty is still scheduled to be held at the event deck at L.A. Live.

"Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday’s Mockingjay 2 premiere," said a statement from Lionsgate. "We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion."

The MTV livestream has also been canceled 

This won't affect the fans experience attending the event. In many ways, fans will likely have even more opportunities for cast signings and access since they won’t be doing press interviews. We are here in Los Angeles now and the preparations for the red carpet and fan bleachers continue in LA Live as we speak. 

Julianne Moore on President Coin in Modern Luxury's Angeleno

Julianne Moore is the cover star for the November issue of Modern Luxury’s Angeleno magazine and we've got our first look thanks to US Magazine. 

Opening up about her role as President Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Moore said she strived to bring more depth to the character, who leads the rebellion alongside Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss.

Because you see Coin from the view of Katniss, she’s not fully fleshed out. But I wanted to give her a kind of an arc. I don’t want to give it away, but there’s a sense of evolution with Coin that leads potentially to a sense of disillusionment. I wanted her to evolve from someone who was revolutionary to someone who has inserted herself in a power structure.”

Francis Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks and Julianne Moore were presented with honors at the "CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards" ceremony on Thursday, April 23, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Francis Lawrence received the "Director of the Year" award. He spoke with Collider.com about Mockingjay Part 2 during the festivities. See that awesome video here. 

Elizabeth Banks took home the "Breakthrough Filmmaker of the Year" Award for her work directing Pitch Perfect 2.

Julianne Moore Covers Harper's Bazaar

Julianne Moore is Harper's Bazzar's April 2015 cover star. In the issue Julianne talks about her personal style "my style has gotten better, hopefully!" and maintaining her dignity on the red carpet:

"I'm 54 years old. I can't make my fingers walk; it's humiliating! And a guy asked me to lift up my skirt to show them my shoes, and I said, 'I don't need to do that. Let's keep some dignity.' "

Moore on the diverse roles she has played: "Some people say, 'You play happy people,' and I'm like, 'No.' Or 'You play people who have affairs,' and I'm like, 'No.' Or 'You play lesbians,' and I'm like, 'No!' I've made 50-something movies, so there's a lot of different people. I like really human stories."

On getting older: "The older you get, you have a clearer understanding about what you care about, what you value, and you begin to think laterally and not vertically. Who are these people around me; let me try to experience this. That's what makes everything more valuable and more interesting."

On family: "I have great kids. I have a great husband—and I know it sounds queer! My son and daughter both play basketball, and my husband and I do our best to go to every game. We try to spend time as a family. We just try to be super involved in each other's lives." The four have been hitting the red carpet as a unit more often lately. Moore waves her hands around her fancy dress. "The fact that they get involved in all of this—it's a good thing!"

On the women she admires: "Ellen Page [who stars as Moore's girlfriend in the upcoming Freeheld]. Kristen Stewart, I just love her. Emma Stone is fabulous. I love Catherine Deneuve. I love Tilda Swinton."

"But," she adds, "women are fabulous. I like our camaraderie, our similarities, how we collaborate. When my daughter was born, I looked at her in the bassinet and I said, 'You're one of us.' " She mists up. "I'm going to cry if I think about it too much. I had this little girl and was like, 'Yup. You're one of us. '"

Julianne Moore Wins a Film Independent Spirit Award & Jena Malone Attends

Julianne Moore continued her winning streak at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, CA yesterday. Julianne won Best Female Lead, of course, for her amazing performance in Still Alice. It's looking like that Oscar is almost a sure thing! 

Jena Malone also put in an appearance at the Awards, there to support her film Inherent Vice, which took home the Robert Altman Award which was given to director Paul Thomas Anderson and the films' ensemble cast.
