Rest In Peace Donald Sutherland

Donald Sutherland has passed away at 88.Today, we mourn the loss of a legend. Donald Sutherland, the actor who brought our President Snow to life in The Hunger Games franchise, has passed away at the age of 88.

With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away,” Kiefer Sutherland announced on X, formerly Twitter, “I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.” 

We will forever be grateful to Donald for his brilliant portrayal of Snow in The Hunger Games franchise. He brought immense joy to the fandom, skillfully embodying the villain we loved to hate. 

Rest in Peace, Donald. 

RUMOR ALERT: The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes Screening Rumors

RUMOR and SPOILERS! Donald Sutherland is rumored to make a cameo appearance at the end of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes in a short 40 second scene. 😲 We know it's just a rumor for now but WOULDN'T IT BE AMAZING?? 

This is according to @DivinitySeeker1 on twitter, who has spoken to a test screening facilitator. He says there are multiple musical numbers in the film. Obviously these are going to be the Lucy Gray scenes and The Covey scenes - very important scenes in the book and not the "burst into song" musical numbers people might be imagining. It IS called The BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS and Snakes, after all. Rumor is that the opening scene is a prologue set in the past and is a new original scene. We assume this to mean it's a scene the script writers came up with, set before the 10th Games, and is not from the book.

The current length of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes film in test screenings is rumored to be ~ 3 hours and 40 minutes. Director Francis Lawrence has said in interviews tht this film will be the longest of all of The Hunger Games films, but that he's aiming to be well under 3 hours. They’re still figuring out which scenes to tighten up so the end result will likely be shorter.

Again, these are RUMORS and haven’t been confirmed with anyone from the studio. It's always interesting to hear these whispers and look back later to see if they were true or not.🕊️🐍

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Good Morning America will broadcast nonstop for 40 consecutive hours in an on-air and livestreamed event featuring celebrity performances, special events and the reunion of the morning show’s previous anchors David Hartman, Charlie Gibson, Sam Champion and Joan Lunden, among others.

The “40 for 40” event will start Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. and will run uninterrupted through 9 a.m. Nov. 19.

GMA’s “40 for 40” broadcast will be streamed live at ABCNews.com/live and GoodMorningAmerica.com, so be sure to tune in on Nov 18th to see our cast!
