We are Honored to Unite!

We are SO honored that The Hunger Games shared a piece of our original artwork on all of their social media accounts today!

The "Rise Against The Capitol" poster was created by our co-founder and Artistic Director, Dan McCall. Dan is an amazing artist, designer, and the founder of political parody site LibertyManiacs.com. Dan’s work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, ABC, Fox news, Le Monde Magazine, The Nation magazine, The Star Tribune, The Pioneer press, Mashable.com, BuzzFeed, Reason magazine, and dozens of other publications. Dan works with organizations like WikiLeaks, and Free Bradley Manning, to help build awareness about government overreach and illegalities, so the theme of The Hunger Games is right up his alley.

He's also my brother and one of the funniest people I've ever met.

Check Out 'Mockingjay: Burn' - An Impressive Hunger Games Fan Film

Mockingjay: Burn is a very impressive The Hunger Games fan film by director Leo Kei Angelos and co-producer Kristen Brancaccio who also stars in the film as Katniss Everdeen. 

The gritty, cinematic Hunger Games short film takes you through the bombing sequence in District 8 and was done found-footage style. It's a really dark and realistic take on Mockingjay. We loved it! 

A fabulous surprise was seeing our Catching Fire tribute from District 5, James Logan, starring as Boggs in Mockingjay: Burn.

'Mockingjay Part 1' Behind The Scenes - Creating the Lumberjack Sequence

We've got an exclusive look at a new behind the scenes clip featuring the making of the awesome District 7 lumberjack sequence in Mockingjay Part 1, courtesy of Badass Digest.

Jennifer Lawrence and Francis Lawrence Will Work Together Again on New Film

Our favorite Lawrences, Jennifer and Francis, are teaming up to work on a new project, alongside producer James Cameron. The film is The Dive, a biopic of real life competitive divers Francisco "Pipin" Ferraras and his wife Audrey Mestre.

The couple competed to dive as deep as possible underwater on only one breath of air. The film will tell their story, with Jennifer portraying Audrey Mestre. 

 No word yet on who will play opposite Jennifer as Ferraras or when the film will be released. But with the dynamic Lawrence duo signed on, it is certainly a must-see! We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more info on this and update when we can.

'Mockingjay – Part 1' to Release in China… in 3D!

It is official: Mockingjay – Part 1 is a force to be reckoned with!

Lionsgate released a statement that the film will be shared by a partner company, the Beijing-based Talent International Film Co. Ltd.. Why, you ask? So that the film can be unveiled at over 4,000 theatres across China on February 8^th, 2015! That will be the largest welcome for any of the films in the Hunger Games series.

But wait, there’s more. For moviegoers in China, the film will be seen in 3D – making this the only film in the series to be converted to 3D format.

Mockingjay – Part 1 has already decimated its competition in North American box offices by achieving over $121 million in its opening weekend, with all three installments grossing more than $2.2 billion in the global box office.  Based on the excellent reception the film has already received, it is expected that the China release will only solidify Mockingjay’s “rockstar status.”

In their press release, Lionsgate reps stated:

"With the widest Hunger Games opening ever in China and the first Hunger Games film to launch in 3D, Mockingjay is positioned to become a major motion picture event in one of our largest and fastest-growing territories."

It is safe to assume that most Tributes would agree with that statement! Our own Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer Lawrence, has even recorded a special greeting for fans in China and a new version of the trailer has been released to get Chinese fans pumped for the movie release.

Happy New Year, Tributes!

Panem’s Book Club - Weekly Book Recommendations

Hey Tributes! As Amber posted last week, we here at Panem Propaganda are putting together a series of book recommendations for life between Mockingjay films and ultimately, life after The Hunger Games.

This will be a weekly thing, our own little Panem Book Club! Hopefully, these other novels will hold you over until next year for Mockingjay: Part 2 and will be good breaks between re-reading the HG series.

This week’s recommendation features the dystopian series, Unwind by Neal Shusterman.

Here is a synopsis of the book, from Amazon:

“In America after the Second Civil War, the Pro-Choice and Pro-Life armies came to an agreement: The Bill of Life states that human life may not be touched from the moment of conception until a child reaches the age of thirteen. Between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, however, a parent may choose to retroactively get rid of a child through a process called "unwinding." Unwinding ensures that the child's life doesn’t “technically” end by transplanting all the organs in the child's body to various recipients. Now a common and accepted practice in society, troublesome or unwanted teens are able to easily be unwound.

With breathtaking suspense, this book follows three teens who all become runaway Unwinds: Connor, a rebel whose parents have ordered his unwinding; Risa, a ward of the state who is to be unwound due to cost-cutting; and Lev, his parents' tenth child whose unwinding has been planned since birth as a religious tithing. As their paths intersect and lives hang in the balance, Shusterman examines serious moral issues in a way that will keep readers turning the pages to see if Connor, Risa, and Lev avoid meeting their untimely ends.”

This dystology features four books with the epic conclusion, Undivided, having just been released in 2014. The story is intense and thought-provoking, begging the question of just what lengths society may go to. Shusterman provides a fascinating commentary on technology and mankind. It includes powerful characters and is told from varying points of view. Unwind is also being optioned for the big screen, tentatively to hit theaters in 2016. So get in on the action now, and get ready for a thrilling ride!
