As Victory Tour 74 marches on and the Third Quarter Quell quickly approaches, Panem is abuzz with speculation about what surprises the Gamemakers have up their sleeves. We spoke recently with Head Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee about the upcoming Games and what’s in store for this year’s tributes.
“President Snow and I are knee-deep in strategy sessions, ” Heavensbee told us. “The President and I have been in almost constant contact these last few weeks. We want to ensure we give Panem the Quarter Quell it so richly deserves. This Quell will be like nothing this country has EVER seen!”

When pressed for details, Heavensbee was characteristically tight-lipped, but offered, “Get ready for something truly electrifying!”

Lionsgate and Internet Explorer have launched a "groundbreaking digital home" for Hunger Games fans, The Hunger Games Explorer. This "definitive online destination" for fans is a go-to site for a rich, interactive experience that lets users explore the world of The Hunger Games.
The site will let you track every development in the franchise, including fan blogs, talent tweets, exclusive images and videos. The site will serve as a social aggregator, allowing both official and fan-generated content to be pulled from multiple social media platforms. Users will be able to search, filter and share content directly from the site. Another feature called “sparking” lets fans “like” objects while driving discussion around each bit of news or fan-created content.
“We have the best fans in the world, and starting tonight they have a home on the web where they can be a part of The Hunger Games experience and contribute to the excitement for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” said Danielle De Palma, senior vice president digital marketing, Lionsgate. “The Hunger Games Explorer is not only a place for fans to spark the conversation around The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but also a destination where we can continue to provide fans with new content, experiences and unprecedented behind-the-scenes access.”
”With The Hunger Games Explorer, we wanted to change the game for how a movie can be extended to the web, providing an intensely immersive experience for fans,” said Roger Capriotti, director, Internet Explorer marketing.

Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the triumphant victors of the 74th Hunger Games have embarked on their historic Victory Tour, and we’re bringing you every glorious detail! As the dominant duo makes their way across our nation, we’ll keep you apprised of every heroic speech and dazzling photo op.

Everdeen and Mellark’s first stop was District 11. Panem’s agriculture hub greeted our victors with open arms on the verandah of the stately District 11 Justice Building. The mayor gave a rousing speech and the victors received gorgeous bouquets of flowers and commemorative plaques. Mellark’s moving acceptance address even elicited a kiss from Katniss!
The jubilant pair was then whisked off to prepare for a formal dinner in the rotunda of the Justice Building. Every D11 dignitary attended the glorious fete which featured delicacies straight from District 11’s agricultural bounty.
Katniss and Peeta danced the night away, and were caught not once, but TWICE trying to sneak away to be alone. Those star-crossed lovers are borderline delirious in their love for one another! After a whirlwind celebration, the love-birds were back on the train and ready for their next stop - District 10.
