Mainstay Productions has released their newest short, The Hanging Tree. This absolutely gorgeous film was written by Shylah Addante from Hunger Games Fansite Down With The Capitol. It explores the relationship between Katniss and her father on their first hunting trip together.

Victory Tour 2013 Takes Fan Convention Online

Victory Tour 2013, a Hunger Games fan convention, has announced a format change. It will now be a 2-day online fan convention with a significantly reduced price and access for fans worldwide. More info can be found on the Victory Tour 2013 website.

After discussing how we can best support our audience and include as many fellow fans as possible, the Gamemakers have decided to convert Victory Tour 2013 into a 2-day online convention. This change will give us the opportunity to explore the incredible discussions we had planned while keeping the cost affordable for everyone interested in attending. Registration for this online convention will be completely separate from any previous registration and the cost will be $10 per person to attend. 

Over the next few weeks, the website will undergo some changes and we will begin to refund all registrations that have already been purchased. You will need to register again in order to attend the online convention. Closer to the event dates, you will be provided with instructions on how to attend the online convention and will be asked to pre-register for the events you wish to attend.

Sessions and panels will be very interactive and include video conferencing and question and answer sessions with special panelists, group discussions and lecture-style sessions. If you would like to lead a discussion, please apply to lead a session in our Programming section.

More information about registering for the online convention, leading a discussion, computer requirements, and special panelists will appear on our website in the upcoming weeks.

President Snow Declares "The Year Of The Mockingjay"

President Snow declared this "The Year of the Mockingjay" at his annual New Year's Ball last evening.

As we reported here, since the stunning 74th Hunger Games victory of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the entire nation has been clamoring to obtain anything featuring Everdeen's token mockingjay. President Snow has paid tribute to the country's adoration with this esteemed honor. 

"Katniss is a great symbol of true courage. This is recognition of her courage, sacrifice, and the beginning of a long-term partnership with the Capitol, and most especially with me. We shall work together hand-in-hand for the ongoing prosperity of Panem!"

Third Quarter Quell Exclusive! A Look Inside The Games With Plutarch Heavensbee!

When The Hunger Games roll around again next year, they won’t be just any old Hunger Games. Panem citizens, it’s time for the Third Quarter Quell! Those of you lucky enough to have witnessed the Second Quarter Quell at the 50th Games can attest to the excitement and importance of this amazing event. Occurring every twenty-five years, marking the anniversary of the end of the darkest days in our history, these historic Hunger Games are a true celebration of our continued solidarity, a reminder of our past, and a guarantee of our future peace. And, as always, they will include a twist.

While Head Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee, can’t reveal any details, he did speak to us by phone from the top-secret site of the under-construction Quarter Quell arena, and gave us a taste of what we can expect. “The Second Quell’s twist was clever - sending 48 tributes into the arena rather than 24. We started with that as a jumping-off point, and realized that we needed to really up the ante for this Games. With that dual victory by Katniss and Peeta still fresh in Panem’s minds, both the twist AND the arena of this Quell need to be unforgettable.
