Happy Mother's Day Mrs. Everdeen!
Happy Mother's Day to Katniss' mother, Mrs. Everdeen! The lovely lady Everdeen wasn't always the neighborhood healer we see today. Born on the wealthy Merchant side of town to parents with a thriving Apothecary, Mrs. Everdeen left the lap of luxury for love.

Katniss' father was a handsome coal miner who swept Mrs. Everdeen off her feet with his enchanting singing voice and gentle demeanor. Mrs. Everdeen cast aside her comfortable life and started anew with the rugged charmer from the other side of the tracks.

When Mr. Everdeen died tragically in a mining accident, he instantly became a local hero. After a period of intense mourning, Katniss' mother began her successful career as a popular local healer and herbalist.
Katniss, Primrose, and Mrs. Everdeen are currently enjoying the honor and privilege of life in Victor's Village. Katniss' amazing victory brought her mother back full-circle to a life of comfort, truly illustrating the redemptive power of the Hunger Games.
